BMRC invites you to their Newcomer Resilience and COVID-19 web series, which will explore research into the challenges and opportunities for all facets of newcomer life as we move through the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada.

The first webinar, Challenges and Opportunities, will run February 2, and feature the following presentations:

  1. COVID-19: Challenges and Resilience of International Students, by Prof. Sutama Ghosh and Mr. Suhail Shahidnia (Ryerson University)
  2. Does One Size Fit All? Public Policy Responses to COVID-19, by Prof. Christina Gabriel (Carleton University) and Dr. Muna Osman (OLIP)
  3. Newcomers’ labour market experiences & the pandemic: the role of social media for network building, by Ms. Huan Wang and Prof. Luisa Veronis (University of Ottawa)
